The 8th DACH+ Conference on Energy Informatics, will be held in Salzburg, Austria, on September 26-27, 2019. The conference series aims to promote the research, development, and implementation of information and communication technologies in the energy domain and to foster the exchange between academia, industry, and service providers in the German-Austrian-Swiss region and its neighboring countries (DACH+). Accepted and presented papers will be published in the journal.
Data analytics are playing an increasingly important role in modern industrial systems. Driven by the development of information and communication technology, an information layer is now added to the conventional electricity transmission and distribution network for data collection, storage and analysis, with the help of wide installation of smart meters and sensors. This review by Ettore F. Bompard and colleagues introduces the big data analytics and corresponding applications in smart grids. The characterizations of big data, smart grids as well as the huge amount of data collection are discussed as a prelude to illustrating the motivation and potential advantages of implementing advanced data analytics in smart grids.
This journal aims to provide a unique platform for researchers and practitioners of energy informatics in various scientific, technological, engineering and social fields to disseminate original research on the application of digital technology and information management theory and practice to facilitate the global transition towards sustainable and resilient energy systems.
